Adverse action updates for disputed reports

DATE:
AUTHOR: Checkr

Checkr is introducing an update to the adverse action process when reports are disputed by candidates.

What happens today

  • Currently, Checkr cancels pending adverse actions when investigating a candidate dispute.

What's changing

  • Starting today, Checkr will pause, not cancel, adverse actions when a candidate disputes their report.

  • If the dispute investigation results in no changes to the report, Checkr will automatically resume the adverse action. It will only be canceled if the report is updated.

For example, if you adverse action a candidate on the 10th of the month and schedule the final adverse action notice to be sent 14 days later, and the candidate disputes their report on the 20th, Checkr will pause the adverse action process with four days left. If the investigation concludes on the 25th with no changes to the report, the adverse action process will automatically resume, and the final adverse action notice will be sent on the 29th (four days after the process was resumed).

This change will save you time and simplify your adjudication process by eliminating the need to re-adjudicate unchanged reports.
