NEW: Candidates in India can now validate their government ID instantly through DigiLocker (Aadhaar), with no photo upload and no manual review.

What's Changing

Until now, International Identity Document Validation asked candidates to upload photos of their ID documents, which were then checked against local sources. That process can take weeks in some countries.

With digital ID validation, we connect directly to the country's digital identity provider. Candidates who choose it are validated instantly against the government source. Candidates who cannot or prefer not to use a digital ID continue with the existing document upload flow.

How It Works

1. In the Identity Document Validation step, candidates in India see a recommended option to verify with DigiLocker (Aadhaar), labeled Fastest.

2. The candidate signs in and consents to share their identity details with Checkr.

3. We compare the name and date of birth the candidate declared against the DigiLocker record.

4. The report shows both values side by side with a Clear result when they match.

Important Details

• Optional for candidates: The upload option remains available for anyone without a digital ID.

• No action needed: This is not a new product, and no package configuration changes are required.

• More countries to come: We will share the list of additional countries as they launch.
